Hi and welcome to the listing for this rather eye-catching Austin Allegro!
Originally starting life as a 1300 SDL, it has been turned into a panda police car replica.
Starts and drives, the engine runs very well and has just benefited from an oil service. Mechanically it seems to be good with the brakes, clutch and gearbox all working as they should do, the front suspension however will want pumping up as it is sitting quite low.
Cosmetically from afar it looks fairly smart however there are a smattering of previous poor body and paint repairs, the worst I have highlighted in the photos. The front valence has seen better days, previously bodged with what looks like fibreglass so will want repairing properly.
The interior presents in ok condition and looks to be largely original and complete, the rear seat is quite tired and the top is torn.
The headlights have been wired to be on when the engine is running and the police beacon light can be turned on/off with a switch, of course the exterior ‘Police’ lettering should be covered for road use, not that anyone is going to mistake this for a current police car!
The underneath does look to be surprisingly solid.
This Allegro is being offered for sale as a rolling restoration project which as with most classic cars, will no doubt benefit from current and ongoing TLC/maintenance.
Registered as a historic vehicle so MOT & tax exempt.
Comes with workshop manual, notes and receipts for parts purchased.
A £100 non-refundable holding deposit secures this car.
We can assist with delivery for a reasonable cost, once the car has been paid for.
Any questions, feel free to ask.
Thanks for looking.
