An excellent and completely standard example of this very rare car with low mileage compared to most having covered 88k, and with only 3 previous owners.
Running and driving well, it has benefited from a no expense spared recommissioning recently, following a period of dry storage – this means it is now ready to be enjoyed.
The engine is both smooth and responsive, and has plenty of pulling power thanks to the ’16T’ turbo which produces more boost than the more common T5/T5R’s. It sounds great too with that distinctive 5 cylinder warble! The gearbox & clutch work as they should and there are no untoward noises.
At the end of last year it had the following work done at a Volvo specialist: new thermostat, new bleeder & radiator hose, as well as the ABS unit repaired (£751.27). In 2023 it had a new genuine Volvo battery, a new intercooler and new charge air hose for the turbo (£1,041). In 2021, it had some general work done including the timing belt which was replaced at 84,560 miles, new tyres were also fitted.
The red paintwork still looks smart and is not suffering from the usual fading. There is no corrosion coming through on the bodywork, only point to mention is there is some lacquer peel on the spoiler but otherwise it presents very well for its age.
The interior is in excellent condition and the light beige colour scheme compliments the red paintwork nicely, the seats are extremely comfortable and supportive and show minimal wear. Everything works and all four original mats are still present. There are no warning lights showing.
The underside is as good as it is on top, clean and completely solid. It has been well cared for and stored correctly throughout its life.
An ideal opportunity for any Volvo enthusiast/collector and potentially a good investment.
Comes with 2 sets of spare keys (inc fobs) as well as a good history file: original owners manual and associated booklets, stamped service booklet, invoices for work done, old MOT certificates.
