Originally a 1.6 GTI, this example has been upgraded with the 1.9 Mi16 unit, a popular and well proven conversion which provides the car with a nice power increase over standard.
Finished in Graphite Grey with a half leather/cloth upholstery.
Running and driving well, the car is great fun to drive with plenty of pulling power thanks to the Mi16 engine. The gearbox and clutch work as they should and are nice to use.
It handles and stops well too having been fitted with 206 GTI calipers & discs, Yokohama ADO8R tyres, and Bilstein suspension all round.
Benefits from a recent service, including new spark plugs and HT leads. The cambelt & water pump were replaced in 2021 @ 25,913 miles. It has been well maintained by previous enthusiast owners and has been looked after at specialists such as Pug1Off.
Showing 27k miles however I am told the dash and engine were changed at 80k miles so the actual mileage is around 107k.
The car presents well overall but now being 40 years old, it does show the odd age-related mark and imperfection here and there.
The paintwork is good overall and has a nice lustre to it but does show some lacquer peel on the spoiler and bubbling to the n/s arch area.
The interior is in good useable condition, all gauges are in working order and the dash shows no warning lights.
MOT’d until March 2026.
Comes with a paperwork file which contains a large number of invoices for work done over the years and parts purchased, as well as old MOT certificates.
