1974 MGB GT – Damask Red, 1950cc, Overdrive, Stunning! (GRB 631N) – SOLD

Hi and welcome to my listing for this beautiful MGB GT.

Finished in Damask Red with a Black interior w/matching red piping and clearly subject to an older restoration, this example still presents in excellent condition today.

It has been fitted with a 1950cc Stage II engine and starts, runs and drives well with working overdrive on 3rd and 4th gear. The engine pulls nicely and the gearbox, clutch and brakes are all operating as they should with no untoward noises.

More recently, the MGB has benefited from considerable mechanical expenditure. This includes an invoice from May 2026 totalling £2,221.88 and records an engine service, gearbox oil change and brake-fluid flush, together with attention to the differential, replacement rear wheel bearings and oil seals, carburettor cleaning, balancing and adjustment, a new SU fuel pump, new stainless-steel manifold and exhaust system and replacement nearside rear axle brake pipe

The bodywork presents well and is very straight and solid overall with no major corrosion or damage. The doors, bonnet and boot all shut nicely with good panel fit and shut lines.

The red paintwork is nice and bright and in lovely condition, it has just the odd age-related mark and imperfection here and there. All chromework is in excellent order.

The interior is also very tidy with lovely matched black seats with red piping, they show very little in the way of wear. It has also been fitted with a nicely matched Moto-Lita steering wheel, the carpet set is excellent, and all gauges and instrumentation are working.

The engine bay is also superbly presented, it is super clean and has clearly had a lot of time and money invested into it with some nice upgrades too.

The boot floor and underside both look to be in good solid condition.

Registered as a historic vehicle so MOT/tax exempt, it does however benefit from a current no advisory MOT until April 2027.

Overall a stunning MGB GT which is ready to be enjoyed and taken to shows. The photos do not do this car justice, you will not be disappointed!

Comes with 2 full sets of keys, spare parts, and an extensive history file which includes: a large quantity of invoices/receipts showing work done and parts purchased over the years amounting to thousands spent, old MOT certificates dating back to the 80s, and photographs of its restoration and rebuild during the 90s.

A £500 non-refundable holding deposit secures this car.

We can assist with delivery for a reasonable cost, once the car has been paid for.

Any questions, feel free to ask.
